A Book of Affirmations for Children with Down syndrome
The first of multiple children’s books specific to children with special needs is available to purchase through Amazon. Click the image above or go to https://amzn.to/3zSiA7Q to purchase.
This is an affirmation book for children with Down syndrome. The book represents a child with Down syndrome at school and home saying and signing a variety of affirmations. The sign language symbol and spelling for the affirmation are included on the same page. Every child should feel represented in what they read and see. Down syndrome occurs when an individual has a full or partial copy of the 21st chromosome. Approximately 1 in 770 babies in the United States are born with Down syndrome. Although newer books are starting to represent more diversity, children with Down syndrome are still rarely included.

Lindsey’s Experience
Every step along the educational journey for a child with special needs is crucial and often overlooked by the public education system. Lindsey Baxter started this business to provide the guidance parents and guardians need to ensure they have the correct documentation, resources for IEP meetings, home support, and knowledge of when to apply for services. Lindsey brings extensive experience as a Special Education Teacher, District Teacher Specialist, University Professor, Special Education Trainer for the State of Utah, and Special Education Subject Matter Expert. Starting her journey at age 14, Lindsey has dedicated 19 years to advocating for students with disabilities. She has taught every grade level from Kindergarten through Post High School, worked as a Professor for the University of Phoenix, and served as a Teacher Specialist supervising 11 elementary schools. Her roles have included coaching teachers, providing training and certifications, supervising programs, and conducting special education audits. As an Instructional Coach/Implementation Specialist for the State, she collaborated with district-level directors and repaired relationships to build a new path for both parties. Post-COVID, Lindsey returned to the classroom to support schools and children with severe disabilities. After 20 years in public education, she now focuses on helping families navigate the education system and providing in-home consulting services. Lindsey is passionate about ensuring every child, regardless of ability level, has access to the resources and support needed to succeed and gain independence.
